we started out very late since we all slept in but we still managed to walk a lot today. We started at the Blackwells bookstore the largest bookstore in the UK which opened in 1879. The basement has the worlds longest bookshelf. The store has now expanded to 4 floors.
We then went for lunch at the Turf and Tavern. A pub down a narrow back alley, making it very difficult to find, but said to be a favourite of students since it opened in 1381. It’s the pub where Bill Clinton also had a toke of a joint ‘but he did not inhale.’
After that we joined a 2 hour walking tour of all of the top university sites. A great way to see a lot of sites. Since it is 31 degrees it was a hot outing but we all enjoyed it.
