We made it into a rainy, rainy Wales.
First stop, a meeting with far off relations. Our visit coincided with Elizabeth hosting a church fundraising tea at her home. In addition to meeting her (who is a cousin of Grandpa Ernie’s), we met her daughter Helen and husband Martin and their children Sam and Becky. Elizabeth’s son’s son Jamie, and Liz’s sister Beatrice as well. Dave took over BBQ duties from Martin with Connor making the bacon rolls - bbq bacon on white dinner rolls. Nicole and I visited with Auntie Betty. Betty has quickly became one of our favourite people ever. She’s 98 and sharper than a tack and says exactly what is on her mind. Including telling Nicole that football (aka soccer) for females is wrong -completely inappropriate. She was married to Elizabeth and Beatrice’s brother Fred who passed quite awhile ago. Unfortunately, Liz was so busy running the event that we really didn’t get a chance to visit with her as much as we’d have liked, she seems like a wonderful person. Betty kept us entertained so we were quite happy.
Beatrice (88), Betty (98) and me (48??)
